His meeting with Suzanne Aubert born in Bordeaux on October 29, 1921, whom he married on December 30, 1948, will remain decisive, encouraging everything during his career.

he took up his brushes again in 1958, mainly in the evenings and later during nights caught up in his vital need to paint. He produced a good number of watercolors and adopted his favorite formats of canvases of 1.00 m x 0.50 and 1.20 m x 0.60 m for his oils.

1970 he received the Bronze Medal from the Society of Arts and Letters of the city of Paris for all of his work.

1962 – He found his great friend Louis Charles Pinet de Gaulade (1920-2010) who encouraged him and exhibited him in a permanent gallery at the Galerie Du Simourgh at La Franqui Plage created with the complicity of Madeleine Montagné, first cousin of Henri De Monfreid, the famous adventurer and writer, the gallery welcoming many celebrities such as Charles Trenet who came to visit  very often, the Historian Alain Decaux among others...

During a meal with friends, he will meet Serge Gainsbourg and particularly Jacques Brel for whom he has an admiration that seems to be due to his personality, as well as Léo Ferré, whom he will meet again during his future period in Aix.

This is how Pierre Dory finally finds confidence in his art, despite the doubts that inhabit him like many authentic artists. 1970 – On the advice and at the request of the painter and friend Pierre Cornu, former student of Othon Friesz (1895-1996), he quickly left to set up his Workshop in Aix-en-Provence.

Later various exhibitions will be organized throughout the region in Galleries and Museums, Albi, Gaillac, Lavaur and particularly the Goya Museum in Castres directed at the time by Jean-Louis Augé, who will acquire two works for the Museum.
