Elegant 19th century staircase ball finial in solid Baccarat crystal, mounted on its original bronze base.
This example is particularly desirable as it is signed Baccarat, with the stamp clearly visible on the circular fixing plate beneath the base — an important detail, as many antique staircase balls are merely attributed and not marked.
The crystal sphere features eight large vertical facets, beautifully cut to capture and reflect light. Its proportions and weight give it a strong decorative presence, whether used in its original architectural context or displayed as a refined interior accent.
The bronze mounting retains a warm, aged patina consistent with its period.
Condition:
Very good overall antique condition.
Two light scratches are visible on the top and one on the side, consistent with age and use. No cracks or structural damage.
Measurements:
– Height: 13.5 cm
– Material: Crystal and bronze
– Period: 19th century
– Signature: Stamped Baccarat on the fixing plate
A rare signed architectural element from the prestigious Baccarat manufacture — both decorative and collectible.
