André Planson (1898-1981) Saint Cyr sur Morin (circa 1950) Oil on canvas 65x54cm 86x73cm framed. Born in La Ferté-sous-Jouarre, he received guidance from Paul Meslé (1855-1927), a painter of the Luzancy group. From 1917 to 1919, he studied at the Académie Ranson in Paris. With Roland Oudot, Maurice Brianchon, Christian Caillard, Roger Limouse, and Raymond Legueult, he formed the group known as the Painters of Poetic Reality. He was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1949 and became a member of the Academy of Fine Arts in 1960. Pierre Mac-Orlan dedicated an essay to him.
