Pair Of Legras Vases, Buffon Model
Artist: Legras
This pair of glass vases features an ovoid shape with a straight neck against an opaque periwinkle blue background. The decoration, executed in enamel and gold, depicts a naturalistic scene: a bird perched on a ginkgo biloba branch, surrounded by blooming daisies. A frieze of stylized flowers and blue scrolls highlights the upper rim of each piece. The background is enlivened by landscape motifs rendered in grisaille, evoking distant hills. Each vase bears the handwritten signature "lg" in gold under the base. These vases correspond to reference 3054 in the Legras production catalogue raisonné. Height: 25 cm. Very good condition. Photos taken on a backlit plate. Rare, genuine pair of vases (birds gazing at each other).
