"Regency-louis XIV Period (18th Century) Rosewood Veneer Chest Of Drawers"
A Regency-style Louis XIV (18th century) rosewood veneer commode. This bombé commode, veneered in rosewood with a marble top, dates from the Regency period and the 18th century. It represents the transition between the Louis XIV style and the early curves of the Louis XV style. It features three drawers in three rows: two small drawers at the top and two large drawers at the bottom. The front and sides are veneered in rosewood with a frieze pattern. The commode rests on cabriole legs terminating in gilt and chased bronze sabots. It has drop handles with foliate decoration and keyhole escutcheons (three keys are present). In good overall condition, with some minor wear to the marquetry. Viewable at Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
