"Commode Regence époque XVIIIe"
A very curved commode in violetwood marquetry, opening with three rows of drawers, dating from the early Louis XV period. It is surmounted by a very fine 18th-century marble top: a Medici breccia derived from the peach blossom, probably from the Seravezza quarry in Italy. This commode bears very fine bronze mounts marked with a crown, indicating the date of manufacture: 1745 to 1749 (taxes levied on copper metals during this period). The Spanish-style bronzes are smiling and looking upwards. The provenance is that of a cabinetmaker. FROM THE LYON REGION, THIS CHEST OF DRAWERS HAS BEEN IN A WORKSHOP FOR RESTORATION AND MAINTENANCE. IT HAS BEEN VARNISHED WITH AN OLD-FASHIONED FRENCH PAD. FREE DELIVERY IN FRANCE.
