Games Table – Dressing Table – Desk, Louis XVI Style – Rosewood – Late 19th Century. An elegant, triple-function Louis XVI style salon table, made in the late 19th century. It is veneered in rosewood and features a reversible top finely inlaid with flowers and butterflies, embellished with mother-of-pearl, silver elements, and a frame highlighted with brass stringing. The top opens to reveal: a red felt-lined playing surface; a retractable mirror; a light wood burl interior; and a removable compartmentalized drawer. The front opens with a drawer decorated to match the top, also adorned with mother-of-pearl, silver, and brass stringing. The tapered legs have simulated fluting and brass rings and feet. A refined, decorative, and functional piece, representative of the quality craftsmanship of the late 19th century. Open: 90.5 cm. Very good overall condition.
