Georges Wilmaers (1900-1996) was a Belgian painter, watercolorist, and draftsman of landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes, and figure compositions. He participated in the 1944 Brussels Salon Art Jeune with mythological subjects and continued to exhibit in Brussels throughout the 1950s, notably in 1958 at the Carrefour des Arts gallery with Xavier Allard. After 1960, he created nudes in shades of yellow or red against abstract backgrounds. He had his studio in Schaerbeek. Artist listed in Piron (Dictionary of Belgian Painters) and Artprice, Artnet, etc...
This canvas, well stretched on its original frame, is in very good condition.
The painting, never cleaned, not dirty, is in very good condition, neither repainted nor repaired in any way, nothing shows up under UV light.
