"Gilt Silver Ciborium, France Circa 1900"
A gilt silver ciborium resting on a circular, stepped foot, the base of which is decorated with chased scrolls, aquatic foliage, and lanceolate leaves, symbols of the Eucharist. The tubular stem, fitted with a torus-shaped ring, supports a hemispherical cup surmounted by a domed lid with the same decoration as the base's base. A fleur-de-lis cross adorns the top. The foot is fitted with a bronze disc. 950/1000 silver, Minerva hallmark, France, circa 1900. Attributed to the silversmith Paul Brunet. Height: 29 cm; Base diameter: 13.5 cm; Cup diameter: 12.5 cm; Gross weight: 532 g. Good condition.
