This elegant bowl, lined with green crystal, rests on a finely chased and gilt brass mount, a characteristic piece from the Restoration period (circa 1815–1830). The openwork mount features a rich, continuous frieze of alternating winged griffins, draped female figures in the antique style, and flaming vases, in a Neoclassical style still imbued with mythological references inherited from the Empire. The whole is supported by four scrolled feet, adorned with foliage and volutes, ensuring an elegant and perfectly balanced base. The crystal, with its beautiful, luminous green hue, remarkably highlights the fine metalwork and lends the piece a high-quality decorative presence. This type of bowl could have served as a ring holder or trinket dish for the refined interiors of the first third of the 19th century.
