Created by Victor Kremer in the late 19th century, this hand-modeled and applied handled mug depicting a cat perfectly illustrates the creativity of this major artist at the Sarreguemines pottery factory.
Note the expression, the gaze, the vitality, and the impression of strength emanating from the animal.
In relief on the salt-glazed stoneware mug, polychrome fish and vegetables complete the decoration.
A German inscription is inscribed on a painted gilt cartouche on the back of the mug.
