A chiselled and gilded bronze jewellery box decorated with foliage motifs, openwork acanthus leaves, scrolls, leafy volutes and beaded friezes. The lid is adorned with a miniature depicting a bust portrait of a woman wearing a gathered gauze veil, inlaid with tortoiseshell.
