"Pair Of Covered Alabaster Vases With Gilt Bronze Mounts, 19th Century"
An important pair of alabaster vases with bronze mounts and lids, featuring original gilt patina and finely executed chasing. Each vase is flanked by two handles in the form of women's heads adorned with garlands of vine leaves and bunches of grapes. The lids are decorated with acanthus leaves and surmounted by a pine cone. The pedestal rests on a square base adorned with scrolls and encircled by a beaded frieze.
Minor chips to the base.
