"Three Meissen Polychrome And Gold Porcelain Fruit Bowls, 1850"
Three Meissen Polychrome and Gold Porcelain Fruit Bowls, 1850, in good condition. This set of three bowls is hand-painted with flowers, foliage, and racemes in gold on a white and blue background. The bowl is decorated in polychrome, divided into sections with figures, gallant scenes, and highly detailed landscapes alternating with sections painted in blue. The whole is framed by a multi-lobed, scalloped border decorated with floral motifs in gold on white.
It rests on a circular foot that repeats the same polychrome decoration in blue and gold with polychrome painted flowers and miniatures with figures and landscapes.
This set of three German porcelain fruit or dessert compote stands bears the blue Meissen factory mark with two crossed swords on the bottom. They come from a private collection and are in good condition, with no breaks or restorations, and signs of wear consistent with their 19th-century date.
