Sheet With Matching Pillowcases - Extensive Embroidery - 19th Century
A matching linen sheet and pillowcases set. Beautiful and substantial hand-embroidered work adorns all three pieces. The motifs depict sheaves of flowers with ears of wheat (symbols of fertility, wealth, etc.). I believe this is a trousseau set for a wedding. The sheet is decorated on the sides up to 95 cm high. Both pillowcases are decorated with the same motifs. The seams and hems of the entire set are handmade. The pillowcases close with buttons. Dimensions: Sheet 340 cm x 230 cm wide; Pillowcases: 66 cm x 65 cm (+5 cm flat ruffle all around). Very GOOD CONDITION
