"The Hurdy-gurdy Player By J. Le Guluche, 19th/20th Century"
Large polychrome terracotta sculpture of the Hurdy-Gurdy Player by the Breton sculptor Joseph Marie Le Guluche (1848-1915). This figure, typical of Breton festivals, is remarkably realistic; the original polychromy is remarkably fresh. It bears an impressed signature on the base, a round publisher's stamp on the back of the plinth, and a brass cartouche on the front titled "Hurdy-Gurdy Player by J. Le Guluche." Height 72 cm. Very good condition. Additional photos available upon request.
