A beautiful and rare porcelain figurine depicting two polar bears, executed in glazed and hand-painted porcelain in a restrained and elegant Art Deco style.
The piece was produced by the renowned Zsolnay Porcelain Manufactory, founded in Pécs, Hungary, internationally recognized for the quality of its artistic porcelain throughout the 20th century.
The model is attributed to Géza Nikelszky (1877–1966), a sculptor and designer celebrated for his animal figures characterized by balanced proportions and stylized forms.
The glaze presents subtle tonal variations, typical of Zsolnay’s post-war production. The figurine stands out for its careful execution, strong decorative presence, and excellent state of preservation.
The underside bears the Zsolnay – Hungary mark, confirming its authenticity.
