"Yves Saint Laurent, Small Multifunctional Handbag, Red And Black, 1990."
In 1976, Yves Saint Laurent created a collection inspired by Léon Bakst's remarkable costumes for the Ballets Russes – known as the YSL Collection Russe. This collection was distinguished by exceptional piping, a mix of textures, and a manipulation of volume through the layering of structured fabrics. Among the key pieces were a series of leather or suede belts adorned with black silk trim and tassels. This convertible bag from the 1990s borrows elements from the 1976 collection and reinvents the concept. It is a small, high-quality red suede clutch, trimmed in leather. On the front, a black trim motif extends to a dangling tassel. A long black cord, adorned with two leather tassels, forms an adjustable shoulder strap, allowing the bag to be worn over the shoulder, across the body, or around the waist. It opens and closes with a drawstring. The interior is lined with matching black faille, and the Yves Saint Laurent logo is embossed in gold leaf. Please note: this handbag is in very good overall condition. Please examine the photos carefully.
