"Bernard Jardel (1932-1984) Sirius, 1973 - Acrylic On Canvas"
Bernard Jardel (1932-1984) — Sirius, 1973. Acrylic on canvas, signed lower right and dated 1973, titled Sirius on the reverse. Dimensions without frame: 33 x 41 cm - With frame: 48 x 56 cm. An emblematic geometric composition of the 1970s, Sirius unfolds a subtle interplay of volumes and green gradations, where mathematical rigor converses with an almost cosmic atmosphere. Interlocking planes, suspended spheres, optical depth: Jardel constructs a silent and controlled mental space, on the border between abstraction and ideal architecture. Trained in architecture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Bernard Jardel left the school for a time to manage a construction company. But his passion for creation resurfaced, leading him back to painting, particularly abstraction. His work bears the lasting imprint of this training: regular geometric planes, finely nuanced chromatic values, kaleidoscopic effects that bring his painting closer to Op Art, while retaining a singular atmosphere of strangeness. Present at the Salon de Mai and the Salon des Grands et Jeunes, Bernard Jardel also exhibited in 1972 at the Dario and Jacqueline Boccara Gallery. Perfect condition.
