A Louis XV-Louis XVI Transition Period Marquetry Commode, Circa 1760. This sublime Louis XV-Louis XVI Transition Period commode, with its projecting central section, is crafted from mahogany veneer inlaid with precious wood stringing. It rests on cabriole legs terminating in gilt bronze sabots. The commode features five drawers in three rows across the front and is topped with a beautiful grey St. Anne marble slab with stepped edges and rounded sides. Its uprights are chamfered. The fine gilt bronze ornamentation includes sabots, drops, a lamp base, drawer pulls, and keyhole escutcheons. Made of exquisite mahogany, it comes with its key. This piece is of exceptional quality, with clean and elegant lines. This chest of drawers combines practical utility with ample storage space.
