This fresh copy contains the Miscellaneous Works of M. Roy in two volumes bound together in one handsome, substantial octavo volume. Printed in Paris by Robustel, rue Saint-Jacques, at the sign of Saint John. Pissot, Quay des Augustins, at the sign of the Golden Cross. Huart, rue Saint-Jacques, at the sign of Justice. Chaubert, Quay des Augustins, at the signs of Fame and Prudence. 1727. Printed during the youth of Louis XV... Volume One containing Eclogues and Miscellaneous Pieces, with Reflections on the Eclogue. Volume Two containing Odes, Poems, with Reflections on the Ode, and Discourses on various matters of Morality and Religion. Two title pages and attractive engraved frontispieces (3) by Scotin, for this copy with a handwritten study by the author on the endpapers, otherwise with careful typography, headpieces, initials, and tailpieces. An uncommon work by an author who is still little known but nonetheless talented.
