Empire Period
Empire period. A mahogany veneer and wood pedestal table, resting on a tripod base decorated with swan-neck finials, with an antique brown patina enhanced by gold leaf gilding. The piece has a balanced and authentic presence, typical of the First Empire style. The circular black Portoro marble top structures the piece. Condition report: a few small veneer losses around the edge of the top, and an old restoration consistent with its age. The pedestal table is sold as is. Please note: this pedestal table will appeal to lovers of characterful interiors—country houses or Parisian apartments—who appreciate a piece left in its original condition. I would not have it restored: it gives the impression of having always been there. Feel free to place a beautiful Empire object on it to highlight its elegance. Dimensions: diameter 65 cm, height 69.5 cm. Free delivery throughout France by Galerie De Cicco.
