"Louis XVI Style Mahogany Desk, 19th Century"
An elegant Louis XVI style flat desk, resting on four tapered, sheathed legs ending in brass sabots. The front opens with four side drawers and one central drawer, joined with dovetail joints, a testament to traditional craftsmanship. Made of light mahogany, it is decorated with brass stringing forming geometric frames, typical of the Neoclassical style. The gilt bronze keyhole escutcheons and handles with understated decoration complete the piece. The top is protected by a removable glass top, preserving the leather. Late 19th century (circa 1880–1900). Good overall condition, sound structure, beautiful patina, minor signs of wear consistent with age. Later protective glass top.
