A fine porcelain coffee and/or tea service including cake plates. Hand-painted decorations in sepia tones with gold trim. Each design is unique and depicts rural scenes and landscapes. This service comprises: - 10 cups (8 cm diameter, 5 cm high) and saucers (14.5 cm diameter) - 12 dessert plates (19 cm diameter) - A coffee pot - A teapot - A sugar bowl - A small milk jug - A covered teapot. Note that one saucer has a chip and another has a hairline crack. Other photos and shipping quotes available upon request. Manufactured in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by the Damon company, later known as "Damon et Delente," at Au Vase Etrusque, 20 Boulevard Malesherbes. Louis Damon (1860-1947) became the owner of the "Au Vase Étrusque" shop at 20 rue Malesherbes in Paris in 1887 at the age of 27. A highly creative individual, he had a decorating workshop and produced his own designs for resale. Awarded a silver medal at the 1900 Universal Exposition, he partnered with his brother-in-law, Delente. He then signed his work Damon et Delente/Au Vase Etrusque. In the 1920s, the shop moved to 4 avenue Pierre 1er de Serbie in Paris. Louis Damon's creations between 1889 and 1905 are signed LDamon, LDamon/Parus or DAMON/PARIS sometimes followed by the address 20, bd Malesherbes.
