Two bronze cherubs, allegories of autumn and summer. They are in perfect condition, exquisitely crafted, and signed at the base of each plinth. A high-quality plinth from the "Escalier de Cristal" workshop was added in the 19th century. Walter Pompé (1703-1777) was a Flemish master sculptor primarily known for his religious works in wood. He was renowned for the finesse of his sculptures. Many of his works are held in museums in Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as a Saint Sebastian in the Louvre Museum. They measure 27.5 cm without the plinth and 32 cm with.
