"Spaniel Pointing At A Bronze Goose By Barye."
A very fine bronze cast of a spaniel pointing at a goose. Sand-cast during the artist's lifetime, this early work, with its beautiful chiseling, probably dates from 1825-1835. The sculpture features a naturalistic base. The patina from use is worn in places. Signed Barye on the base, lower left. It has retained its very fine molded red marble plinth from the Pyrenees. Dimensions of the plinth: 16 x 26.5 x 4.5 cm.
