Beautiful 18-carat yellow gold oval box made in Paris in 1767 by the master goldsmith Charles-Antoine Barbier.
It features an elegant oval shape and finely chased decoration typical of the Louis XVI period, with foliate friezes, floral motifs and delicate engine-turned panels.
The interior is entirely in gold, with a perfectly working hinged lid.
Excellent condition with a warm, even patina.
A rare and highly refined example of 18th-century Parisian goldsmithing.
