A Nuremberg-type microscope with three sliding tubes, accompanied by several microscopic views mounted on wooden rods. The instrument is made of wood and cardboard, materials characteristic of this type of educational object produced at the end of the 18th century. It is completed by a screw-on eyepiece cover. Note: the mirror is cracked and one view is missing. Despite these imperfections, this example remarkably illustrates the earliest tools for popularizing science in Europe. Origin: Germany, circa 1820.
