"Portico Clock "return From Egypt" Empire Period"
A 19th-century Empire period "Return from Egypt" portico clock in chased and gilt bronze. The circular dial with black enamel Roman numerals on a white background is signed Lopin Palais Royal. The uprights are decorated with two caryatids in the form of Egyptian busts resting on a black marble base. The pendulum is in the shape of a sun. The wire-driven movement runs but stops and will therefore need servicing. The clock comes with two mounting keys. There is some damage to the enamel around the mounting holes (see photos).
