"18th Century Rosewood Display Case"
A rare and elegant 18th-century Parisian display cabinet, crafted from rosewood veneer on a softwood frame. This piece is distinguished by the remarkable quality of its cabinetmaking, notably its finely veneered top with a geometric herringbone pattern, framed by a perfectly executed straight veneer, characteristic of the finest Parisian workshops of the period. Its harmonious proportions make it an ideal display cabinet for showcasing precious objects, porcelain, or cabinet pieces. The cabinet bears an old brand mark, a capital M, and a JME guild mark on the frame. This marking attests to regulated craftsmanship, conforming to the guild practices of Parisian cabinetmaking under the Ancien Régime. In good overall condition, with an old patina, wear, and minor signs of age consistent with its age.
