Burma, first half of the 20th century, a charming pair of oracle-bearing figures in lacquered wood with gold leaf and inlaid glass beads on their clothing. The quality of the carving, as well as the harmonious colors of the skin tones and clothing, gives these pieces a very beautiful aesthetic. In Burma, oracles were made primarily for religious purposes. They served for the devotion and veneration of Buddhist figures, often placed in temples or on household altars to accompany Buddha. These pieces reflected the spiritual fervor and refined craftsmanship of the period. Good condition, apart from slight normal wear. Dimensions: Height 38 x Depth 31 x Width 25 cm.
