Suite Of 6 Empire Chairs With Etruscan Vase In Walnut 19th Century
Set of six Empire chairs with light walnut frames, early 19th century. Their slightly curved backs are adorned with a central plaque carved with a vase of flowers in the Etruscan style. Their trapezoidal seats feature a frame with traditional upholstery covered in horsehair fabric and rest on tapered rear legs and saber front legs. Horsehair fabrics are prestigious, of very high quality, and highly durable, developing a beautiful patina over time. This set of six chairs is remarkable for both the purity and elegance of its lines and the quality of its craftsmanship. They are comfortable, stable, and sturdy chairs, yet remain light to move.
