Napoleon III Style Mantel Clock In Openwork Gilt Bronze, 19th Century
A beautiful Napoleon III clock, dating from the late 19th century.
Made of gilt bronze, it features fine openwork with a rich decoration of foliate scrolls and mascarons.
The quadrangular body rests on a wide, shaped base with foliate feet, surmounted by an elegant covered vase with scrolled handles.
The circular dial displays Roman numerals in enamel cartouches, and the clock has a key-wound mechanical movement that strikes the hours and half-hours.
The mechanism needs servicing, but the key is included. The clock is of high quality, with very detailed decoration and a uniform antique patina.
