Pair of still lifes with fruit, signed Alfred Arthur Brunel de Neuville (1852-1941), late 19th, early 20th century. Alfred Arthur Brunel de Neuville was a French still life and animal painter born and died in Paris. A member of the Société des Artistes Français, he participated in its exhibitions from 1879 and became a full member in 1907. His works are displayed in several museums: Béziers, Brest, Château-Thierry, Louviers. He received numerous awards (see Bénézit). A very attractive pair of still lifes, very well executed, one with peaches and grapes, the other with currants and plums (a subject rarely depicted in still life). No damage.
