Norbert Tréca (1928–2015) was a French sculptor trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Douai, where he later taught. A ceramist and then a sculptor, he became famous for his modern, figurative female figures, often cast in bronze. This patinated bronze sculpture depicts a crouching nude woman, her body resting on the ground in a very dynamic pose. The lines are clean, the modeling sensual without ostentation, true to the sculptor's exploration of femininity. The nuanced dark patina highlights the volumes and the interplay of light. A large, signed piece, ideal for becoming the focal point of a living room, hall, or landscaped garden.
