A set of 10 pieces of Catalan earthenware made around 1950 by the artist Eusebio Costa Díaz, who worked in La Bisbal d'Empordà (Catalonia). The set comprises 8 plates and 2 cups with saucers, three of which are signed, as are the two cups and saucers. The pieces feature hand-painted marine and naturalistic motifs (fish, seahorses, birds, stylized vegetation) on a cream background, enhanced with gilding. The pieces have a uniform patina and very subtle wear to the gilded highlights, without detracting from the legibility of the designs or the overall harmony. A typical example of post-war Catalan earthenware, this piece is in excellent condition.
