Infantry Grenadier's Bearskin Cap. French Revolution. Late 18th Century. The body is made of natural leather covered with bearskin, featuring a revolutionary tricolor cockade on the left side, trimmed in passementerie. The center is white, then alternately blue, white, and scarlet. The brass plate is embossed with a raised molding and bears a flaming bomb in the center.
