An Empire two-door bookcase in mahogany crotch with gilded bronze inserts, dating back to the early 19th century. The front features two glass doors with three oak shelves adjustable with a ladder system. The two corners are embellished with two large plumed columns topped with finely chased gilded bronze bases and capitals. The entablature is embellished with a gilded bronze trim in the center depicting a mythological figure. Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen using the traditional shellac and alcohol method, handmade. Origin: France, early 19th century. Dimensions: 155 x 50 x 230 cm.
