Cherrywood Chest Of Drawers, Louis XVI Period – Late 18th Century
A Louis XVI period cherrywood commode, featuring an elegant molded front with a subtle central projection, highlighting the architectural rigor characteristic of this era. It opens with three large drawers in the front, each adorned with brass drop handles and heart-shaped keyhole escutcheons, complete with a working key and lock. A discreet dust cover separates the drawers, protecting the contents while enhancing the quality of the craftsmanship. The square, fluted uprights terminate simply in slightly raised square feet, giving the piece a stable base and a slender appearance. The whole is crowned with a bluish-grey breccia marble top, whose projections on the front and sides precisely follow the lines of the piece, emphasizing the harmony between structure and ornamentation. This piece of furniture perfectly embodies the classic elegance and masterful craftsmanship of the 18th century.********Period: 18th century.
