A Very Interesting Japanese Wooden Carved Sculpture Of A Geisha In The Nata-Tsukuri Style.
Please note, this is not an unfinished sculpture, the geisha is completely recognisable and the maker has seen no need for more refinement, Tokugawa Period = Edo Period (1603-1868)
Japanese Second half 19th Century.
The geisha is carved with a flower bunch in her hand.
In wonderful original condition, carved from one block of wood, with a beautiful original patination, no missing pieces.
72cm high, 22cm wide, 16cm deep.
