Chinese-style tureen - Late 18th century. Polychrome covered tureen with four legs, fired at low temperature. Cauliflower finial, shell feet. Molded shape. Fine chinoiserie decoration (2 adult men, 1 adult woman, and 1 child). Lid with a combed rim. The manufacturer is from eastern France, but remains to be identified: Les Islettes, Lunéville, or elsewhere? This piece has suffered the ravages of time and has been fully restored. Two new handles, one foot reattached. Losses filled and repainted. Significant crazing is concealed by an overall interior paint finish. Exterior crazing remains visible.
