Things weren't so silly back then (mid-20th century)... First, you had to reproduce the model of a plant, shrub, or tree with pen and ink. You couldn't make any blotches on the flowers, branches, or fruit... Then, with meticulous care, you had to work with a brush... A sweaty affair when it was time to hand in your work... A moment of anxiety when the teacher returned it... It was hard to get a "Very Good" grade; some pages received a disdainful "Good," and yet, the sweat was definitely there... 42 pages of science class, 42 pages of sweat, ink, and watercolor. Worth framing if you like...
