Rare Pembé Cap Mask
Old Pendé (Congo) mask of the “Muyombo” type. These masks were worn like a cap, on the top of the head and not on the face. Beautiful sculpting work: perfect symmetry (eyebrow ridges, frontal scarification), the profile in particular shows the dynamism and a beautiful reading of the object... Light wood with old patina from use, raffia cap. The inside of the mask shows signs of use. Height: 35 cm. Provenance: Former Parisian collection
