Anthropomorphic Pitcher.

This beautiful stoneware pitcher, also known as the "Marquis Pitcher," is reminiscent of the production of Sauxemesnil or Saussemesnil in the Manche region. Our pitcher depicts a bearded nobleman wearing a tricorn hat that serves as a spout. He is dressed in a long jacket, and on the front, an ornament suggests a jabot-trimmed shirt. His arms are rounded and detached from his body, his shoulders are adorned with epaulettes, and his body is plump. On the underside, there is a mark that is difficult to decipher but could be "Neau." 20th century. Height 20 cm.
