Daniel, known as Danillo Curetti, a young contemporary artist of Swiss origin, brought a breath of fresh air to the Longwy pottery works in 1983. He collaborated there for nearly six years before leaving Longwy in November 1989 to found a pottery workshop in Switzerland. His time there left an Art Deco influence; Curetti mastered both design and materials. He works with fairly large flat areas of color and was one of the first major figures in contemporary Longwy enamels. Longwy enamels refer to a collection of very high-quality ceramic pieces, renowned worldwide since 1798 for their unique manufacturing technique and colorful aesthetic. Located in the Grand Est region of France, the city of Longwy is proud of this long-standing artisanal tradition, which continues to embellish everyday objects. Longwy enamels are the expression of a craftsmanship rooted in tradition, yet constantly evolving. For over two centuries, these everyday works of art have borne witness to French excellence and creativity in ceramics. Sincerely, Philippe Verdier
