"Covered Vegetable Cabinet, 18th Century"
A covered vegetable dish and its matching tray in 950/1000 silver, with rich neoclassical decoration. The rim is decorated with a frieze of palmettes; the lid is surmounted by a finial adorned with a pomegranate and an acorn, against a background of foliage. The vegetable dish has two side handles embellished with hanging rings. The whole is engraved with a count's coronet above a scroll bearing the motto: "Pietate et Justitia" (Pity and Justice). Hallmark of the Goldsmiths' Association (1798–1799). Total weight: 1,626.77 g.
