Russian Bench In Mahogany And Gilt Wood, Circa 1820-1830
- Russian bench in blond and gilt mahogany, dating from around 1820-1830
- This bench, entirely veneered in mahogany, is distinguished by its curved profile that follows the natural curve of the back, thus offering a comfortable seating position. Resting on four saber legs, it features cyma recta armrests with a large volute at the top and adorned with a veined leaf on the underside. - Its carved decoration consists, on the backrest, of a central radiating motif surrounded by stylized palmette scrolls that emphasize the curves of the upper line of the backrest. Similar motifs adorn the lower line, softening the initial straight line. These gilt ornaments enhance the brilliance of the shellac finish.
- Good condition
- Dimensions: Height: 109.5 cm, Width: 144.5 cm, Depth: 66.5 cm
