Vintage albumen print circa 1870. Shepherd in traditional costume in front of the Bois des Pins (Pine Grove), Beirut. Beautiful composition for this rarely depicted genre scene of Lebanon. The Zangaki brothers were two Greek photographers, active between approximately 1860 and 1890, primarily in Egypt and Algeria. They are best known for their photographs of historical monuments in ancient Egypt and scenes of daily life.
