"Royalist Coat Of Arms In Carved Wood"
This beautifully sized carved wooden piece depicts a fleur-de-lis coat of arms beneath a crown, dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. Made from walnut wood with highly textured motifs, it features a frieze of alternating letters and fleurs-de-lis around the edge. At its center is a coat of arms bearing three gilt fleurs-de-lis on a dark blue background, surmounted by a beautiful openwork royal crown (7.5 cm thick). The coat of arms is surrounded by a frieze adorned with scallop shells. The crown is topped with a removable (possibly later) bronze and gilt brass fleur-de-lis. A vertical crack is visible on the left, indicating that the piece was assembled in three parts, clearly visible on the back. Insect damage, now gone, is present on the back, and the inscription reads: "restored in 1862 B.BA." Note: fine carving work. Shipping: €15 for mainland France.
