Saint Cecilia Of Rome, Wood Paneling, 17th-18th Century

Beautiful painting, a portrait of Saint Cecilia at her organ, which must have been part of a chapel paneling, circa 1700.
This painting, oil on softwood measuring 29cm x 40cm, is rather naive, luminous, and richly detailed of Baroque style, which allows us to call her the Patron Saint of Musicians: "She is depicted with a crown of flowers, a symbol of virginity, a lily plant, a musical instrument, and a sword. She is often turbaned and richly dressed, signs of patrician origin. She is one of the most venerated martyrs of the early Church, mentioned in the canon of the Mass since 496 AD." Good condition; surface is dirty and could use cleaning, but it is otherwise in excellent condition, with no missing .
Wooden panel shows marks from an adze on back.
